Hope Series - Free Ride

Hope Series - Free Ride

Medium:Markers, Pen, Pencil and Colored Pencil on Paper

Size(cm):44×76×0

The Hope series involves three works, all composed in markers, pen, pencils and colored pencils on paper. Each work is large in scale and uses the principle of emphasis in each. This is the third work in the series and is titled: Free Ride. This work, like the previous two in the series, highlight life and hope among the death and destruction. The skateboarder in this work reminds us that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, and kindness. Surrounded by devastation, he isn't waiting for some grand utopian future because the future is an infinite succession of presents. He lives as human being should live, in defiance of all that is bad around him... and that in itself is a marvelous victory.
