Niko

This work is based on a prolific gamer by the name of Nikola "Niko" Kovac. Nikko is an individual that I look up to, based on not only his gameplay but also his personality. I composed this work in a way that showed my subject not just for how he looks but also for who he is and what he does. I therefore included biographical information as well as statistical gameplay information related to Nikola. The font size, layout and design are all given consideration. The overall look is such that Niko, painted in acrylic and large in scale, is emphasized to the right, while the text related to my subject is positioned throughout the entirety of the composition. I chose to position some of the more relevant text in the open areas of the work so that they could be easily read. I stuck to a simple pallet of blacks, whites and greys for a more muted look. Using simple values, I was able to emphasize the subject. Overall, this is my tribute to a competitive gamer who serves as an inspiration for me on many levels. I hope my audience can gain an appreciation for Niko through my work.
